Man Sues for $10 Million Because McDonald's Put Cheese on His Burger
Maybe Jeromy Jackson has a good case, maybe not. The headline is eye-catching: A guy orders a burger without cheese at McDonald's and is suing for $10 million because the fast food chain gave him a cheeseburger.
Remind you a little of the Stella Liebeck "hot coffee" case from 1992? It did me.
Of course, there's more to the story. Jeromy is highly allergic to cheese, and the one bite he took sent him to the emergency room. It "almost cost him his life," says his attorney.
Maybe McDonald's is liable, but for $10 million?!? Let me ask you this: If you were so allergic to cheese that a single bite could almost cost you your life, don't you think you'd lift the bun and check? The plaintiff claims he was in a darkened room watching a movie when he took his first bite, but still--IT'S A LIFE-THREATENING CONDITION! Turn on the damn light and check!
It'll be interesting to see how this ends. Click here to check out the article.
