Steampunk Comedy

Perhaps no one else will find this funny, but I giggled through much of it.

First of all, you should know what Steampunk is. If not, this is a recent trend towards making useful things in a handcrafted way that recalls the design ethic of the Victorian or early industrial/steam era. You can learn more on Wikipedia.org.

Secondly, a certain love of geek and masturbation humor wouldn't hurt.

Enjoy Merlin Man speaking about his love of Steampunk...

SNL: People Getting Punched Just Before Eating

One of the most popular vids on Hulu. Not sure why it's popular. Not sure why I laughed. Perhaps you'll explain it.

Why PR Sucks

The headline read, "Comedy Superstar Dana Carvey to Tape National Television Special Live From Santa Rosa."

I couldn't even get past the words "Comedy Superstar Dana Carvey" in the headline much less read the article.

I don't know why you'd care, but here's the breathless, inaccurate, and overhyped press release.

24 Pilot from 1994

This is why the show "24" would've sucked had it been on back in 1994.

Hedgehog Spears

Personally, I think making fun of Britney is too easy. Mocking her shaved head, lethargic VMA performance, less-than-hard body, and narcissism is like hitting the broad side of a barn. But, if someone must do it, it might as well be Ron Jeremy.

The Making of Young Frankenstein

Thanks to Beard Crumbs for this terrific clip with behind-the-scenes outtakes and interviews from the comedy classic, "Young Frankenstein." And, of course, the star of the movie was Marty Feldman!

Most beautiful girl in the room

The Flight Of The Conchords sure know the way to a girl's heart. "You're so beautiful, like a tree, or a high-class prostitute. You could be a part-time model, but you'd probably still have to keep your normal job."

Thanks to Randy for sharing.

Back to the Future's Biff is Sick of the Questions

My last post featured a current video with the bad guy from the Karate Kid, Billy Zabka. Keeping in the theme of 80s movie evildoers, here's an update from Back to the Future's Biff, AKA Tom Wilson. Turns out he's a singing comedian and has a song about the endless BTTF questions he gets.

Pervert! What did you think he was drawing?!?!

This video is NSFW, then it's not, then it's NSFW, then it's not, then it's NSFW... oh, just watch the video and you'll understand (but make sure bosses, children, and other sensitive people aren't around).

Schaffer the Darklord - "The Rappist"

Enjoy this fun white boy rap from STD--Schaffer the Darklord.

When a rapper says throw your hands up, I don't.
When a rapper says make some noise, I won't.
Bossing your audience is awfully pompous,
So I'll never do it--that's the STD promise.

I'll never battle rap, or rap like a black,
And I'll never try to lose sight of just where I'm at.
God damn it! Hey I'll never do that again,
And by that I mean end a sentence with a preposition.

Hugh Laurie's Protest Song

House can play guitar. House can play harmonica. House can sing! And he's even funny!

I thought I'd post this since it was on SNL, and you probably didn't see it since no one watches it any more.

They Tried to Make Me Go to Jihad... I Said No No No

Inappropriate humor alert: A funny (or not) video done to the tune of Amy Winehouse's "Rehab."

Hipster Olympics

Very funny--hipsters compete in competitions such as finding the appropriately ironic t-shirt in a stash of thrift-store apparel and searching their vinyl collections for bands they discovered but have since sold out.

If Meetings Were Run Like Internet Bulletin Boards

This video is NSFW (Not Safe For Work). It also is WMSUYSTMTIIBB (Won't Make Sense Unless You Spend Too Much Time In Internet Bulletin Boards). If you do hang out online, you will enjoy seeing how well BB behavior ("First!", spam, and powned ) translate in the real world. But please do not watch this at work!

Old Steve Martin Skit

Comedy sure has changed. This old skit starring Steve Martin, Buck Henry, and Teri Garr features no farts, for example. It also seems quaint how long the skit takes to get around to its punch line.

An amusing and unexpected ending, but is it worth the six-minute ride?
